My fiance loves to go fishing. He fishes for Crucian Carp mostly. This is a very popular pastime among Korean men. I have tried it sometimes, but I find it hard to focus solely on the fishing float for a long period of time, waiting for a bite. I prefer bass fishing where you are moving and casting often. It’s more exciting and the lures are pretty.

Sometimes, rather than fish, I sit beside him and read a book on my Kindle. Next time, I am going to try to write outside, with my tablet and foldable keyboard. I think, although I prefer to write in a cafe or at home, I have to learn to be flexible about where I write, so that I can take advantage of free time. Hopefully I won’t drop my sunglasses in the lake, like I did last time!

Today was graduation day for the kindergarten kids. It went well. We had rehearsed a lot, so on the whole it went without a hitch. The children all got their awards and bowed and then sang a song by Bruno Mars called The Day My Life Begins. It was bittersweet. The mothers and fathers all…

  • Of Days off and Duolingo

Well my days off have ended and I was back at work today. Luckily there are two free periods on a Thursday so it wasn’t a total shock to the system. I was able to ease back in. Tomorrow is a full day but it’s almost the weekend. I didn’t do the things I’d planned…
