I recently had to interview a new teacher for a position at our academy. She majored in English and Creative Writing, just like myself, so I immediately felt a connection with her. She seemed like a lovely person and after we made our introductions, she had thoughtful answers for all of the questions posed. My first impressions were very positive.

Introductions to characters are critical too. Regardless of whether they are likeable or not, they must have something to make the reader want to know more. I have created a variety of characters in my stories, some not very likeable people, but I hope that they are intriguing enough that readers want to know who they are and what makes them act as they do, and that they would keep on reading.
