This is going to be a rather random blog posting, as there’s no link between my two subjects. I bought a Bergamot Cold Brew in Starbucks the other day. It arrived looking very pretty, with a lilac tinge. I love the scent of bergamot in Earl Gray tea, so I was hopeful the drink would be pleasant on what was another hot summer day. However, my expectations were dashed, as I found it strange and bitter. It was not what I had imagined and the hint of bergamot clashed with the coffee, in my opinion.

I was thinking what to write about and trying to find a ‘B’ word to go with bergamot and the only thing that popped into my head was boredom! I was spectacularly bored last weekend. You know that Sunday boredom, where you don’t know what to do with yourself. I was restless as well as bored. I didn’t have the energy or imagination to write. I tried having a nap, but I was too restless. Eventually I settled down to read a book, and, as always, that worked it’s magic and I became lost in the story.

Korea has great beauty products but the choice was bewildering. I bought a serum and moisturiser (Biodance) as well as lip balm…

  • Of Reinventions and Regrets

Well, I’ve calmed down a bit after my hair disaster yesterday, but it’s been replaced by extreme regret. I wish I had never touched my hair! It will take over a year for it to grow out, so 2026 is the year of the black bob. I arrived at school and the comments ranged from…
