I’m currently reading the memoir Nobody’s Girl by Virginia Roberts Guiffre. It’s a painful, heartbreaking read. What she suffered in her life is terrible and it makes for disturbing reading. I’m so sorry for her, and also so angry that these people, who damaged her so much, are getting away with it on the whole. Yes, Maxwell is in prison and Epstein is dead, but many of these repulsive men are free because they are rich or powerful.

I have been a bit down this week, partly about work but also because of reading this book. It brings back some bad memories for me. I have never been trafficked or suffered abuse of the magnitude that Virginia did, but I identify with some of what she wrote. I am a survivor of abuse, something I don’t really talk about. I don’t want to go into details but I have been physically and sexually abused by more than one male in my past. It affects me to this day in many ways. The sad thing is I was never brave enough to do what Virginia Guiffre did and speak up. I admire her so much for her bravery.

Korea has great beauty products but the choice was bewildering. I bought a serum and moisturiser (Biodance) as well as lip balm…

  • Of Reinventions and Regrets

Well, I’ve calmed down a bit after my hair disaster yesterday, but it’s been replaced by extreme regret. I wish I had never touched my hair! It will take over a year for it to grow out, so 2026 is the year of the black bob. I arrived at school and the comments ranged from…
