It’s Halloween tomorrow , and we stayed until 9pm last night decorating the academy. It’s completely covered in black with loads of scary motifs. The kids love it, even if it’s hard work for the staff. I’m going to be a witch, but a friendly one as I don’t want the students to be too scared. I have a shiny cape that gleams green and purple and a cheap hat I got at Daiso.

Someone in my family has no wifi right now. Hopefully it’ll be sorted soon. But I know from experience these things can take ages. When you’re in an international relationship or your family live abroad, as we do, then a good wifi connection is essential. My family live in Scotland, California and South Korea so you can imagine needing wifi to keep in touch. I can imagine the stress my daughter is feeling right now, because my fiance and I had six months of long distance relationship and we needed to be able to get in touch every day. Wifi becomes a lifeline.

  • Of Reinventions and Regrets

Well, I’ve calmed down a bit after my hair disaster yesterday, but it’s been replaced by extreme regret. I wish I had never touched my hair! It will take over a year for it to grow out, so 2026 is the year of the black bob. I arrived at school and the comments ranged from…
