Today I was finishing up a book called Human-ish about how and why we anthropomorphise things. It’s a fascinating read. One of the things the writer, Justin Gregg, touches on is abbatoir workers. It got me thinking of the stress all that killing must do and how we could employ humanoid robots to do it instead, eliminating the trauma suffered by the workers. Then I imagined the humanoids suffering trauma and revolting about doing such a grizzly job. The beginnings of a story perhaps.

Talking of trauma, I ate some abominable food today. First off was a box of tempting looking pastries. The cinammon rolls were nice with hot chocolate, but nestled in the box were some sweet garlic butter pastries! Acceptable in South Korea!? Next up, I was excited to find microwaveable mac and cheese in Homeplus. The day glo orange sauce should have been a giveaway that perhaps it wasn’t made with the finest cheddar. Anyway, it was very plasticky and lacking in flavour. The chocolate and pistachio yoghurt I ate for dessert tasted of neither! All in all, a disappointing day food wise.

Korea has great beauty products but the choice was bewildering. I bought a serum and moisturiser (Biodance) as well as lip balm…

  • Of Reinventions and Regrets

Well, I’ve calmed down a bit after my hair disaster yesterday, but it’s been replaced by extreme regret. I wish I had never touched my hair! It will take over a year for it to grow out, so 2026 is the year of the black bob. I arrived at school and the comments ranged from…
