Today, in school, we had a pyjama party for the 100th day. It was so much fun. The kids watched a movie, with popcorn, and then had cucumber facials. There was a pillow fight and story time in the library. Even us teachers wore our pyjamas, much to the delight of the students. It was nice to see the children relaxing because I think Korean kids work very hard.

We all brought our teddies and soft toys too. The students were amazed by my teddy bear, Green Ted. He was handmade by my dad when I was a baby, so he’s quite old and battered now. One of the boys was sad that Green Ted’s eye is missing, so he made him a new eye and taped it on, and patched his arm up where there’s a hole. This boy is normally pretty boisterous so I was really touched at his thoughtfulness.

  • Of Reinventions and Regrets

Well, I’ve calmed down a bit after my hair disaster yesterday, but it’s been replaced by extreme regret. I wish I had never touched my hair! It will take over a year for it to grow out, so 2026 is the year of the black bob. I arrived at school and the comments ranged from…
