Yesterday we went to the wedding of a friend’s daughter. It was a typical Korean wedding, in that it was in a busy wedding hall with other marriages taking place too. We said congratulations to the mother and father of the bride and headed to the buffet to find my fiances university friends. I was disappointed not to see the bride’s dress or the ceremony, but pleased he could talk with his friends, sone of whom he’d not seen for many years. I’d like him to experience a Scottish wedding someday. We Scots know how to party!

Today I am just resting, due to having a throat virus. I feel very weak and achy. A lot of the kids and teachers at school are sick so I was almost guaranteed to get it. I don’t have the energy to write, so instead I will read, as I know reading is important for a writer, and also it’s enjoyable. I want to read as widely as possible and would welcome any book recommendations people might have.

  • Of Bands and Bravery

My fiance used to play in a hobby band, just for fun. They met up last week for a meal for the first time in ages, while I was watching Michael at the cinema with the native teachers. They decided they’d like to play together again. They were a band on and off for ten…
