I started reading a new book last night. I read 20% of it. I’ve only given up on one book before. That was Labyrinth by Kate Mosse. Now I’m reading One Perfect Couple by Ruth Ware. I want to like it but I just don’t care about the characters, and the build up to the island is taking too long. I don’t know whether to persevere or stop reading.

This morning, as is the case every morning, I struggled to get up. I’m the world’s worst at it. I envy people who just get up and feel fresh and awake. I hit the snooze button so many times and, especially in Winter, I have to drag myself out of my cozy bed. Once I’m up it’s ok. It’s a bit like jumping into a cold swimming pool. It’s ok once you’ve done it.
