I naturally have golden brown hair. I saw a few greys creeping in, and I thought I’d go to the salon and get it lifted a shade or two just to brighten me up. Big mistake. It turned out the brassiest gold ever. I was horrified. I think the hair stylist left the dye on for too long. I was really unhappy but, in the British tradition, I didn’t complain. I said it was nice.

Once I got home, it didn’t look any better in the bathroom light. I panicked and bought some brown hair dye and quickly applied it. But it’s turned out almost black. I look like I’m wearing a wig. I’m tempted to shave it all off. My fiance is going to be so shocked.  I don’t know what I was thinking. I had quite nice hair. I haven’t had a hair disaster for a decade, so I’m quite upset, but I guess it will fade and I’ll get used to it.
