We are staying with our Koream family this week. After a barbecue, they suddenly decided to go on a road trip to the East Sea. I got quite excited at the thought of seeing the sea once again as it’s so fresh and clean. The weather has been so unrelentlingly hot that I was looking forward to paddling in the cool water. Imagine my disappointment when we got there and it was dark. We didn’t go right down to the sea either, just a spot overlooking it. I couldn’t see or feel the water. I could only hear the waves.
We ate at a local crab restaurant, despite it being after 9pm. The fresh sashimi was amazing. On the way back, we were in the new Hyundai Palisade when I noticed it would be all too easy to speed in a smooth, luxurious car like that. It was so comfortable and quiet. The miles felt effortless and it didn’t seem like we were going fast at all. Cocooned in luxury we sped along. It was a very different experience than our old Hyundai Avante (2005 model). When riding in that, you feel and hear the road noise so much more.
