Today is St.Patrick’s Day, March 17th, so because we are an English academy, and follow Western traditions, we celebrated it. Everyone wore green and I gave my kids gifts bags with green play clay and green jelly rolls. We played a matching game and lots of other fun things. Funnily enough one of our foreign teachers is Irish and she did a little bit of real Irish dancing. It was great to see.

I read today, in Global English Editing, that there is a reason I struggle to get out of bed in the morning. It’s not because I am lazy apparently. It’s because, according to the article from March 16th 2026, I am battling psychological resistance to a life I no longer believe in. That’s very deep but there could be some truth in it. I accept I have to be a teacher to earn money, and for the most part enjoy it, but I really want to be a writer. The problem is if you are depressed or struggling to get out of bed then you will not find the time to write. It’s a vicious circle.
